So We Didn't Make It!

Leafs Lose Out To Play Offs

overcast 5 °C

Hey,

Even after an amazing game from the Leafs against the Canadiens which saw the Leafs come from behind to win 6 - 5, which put us in a play-off position dependant on the Islanders score agains the Devils of New Jersey. So Islanders win and knock us out of play-offs so Craig, Tash, Myles, Mitchell and I were absolutely gutted. Oh well never mind maybe next year when I am not here.

Now in my final week at Ryerson University...for lectures anyway and now all my work is done and now all I have to do is get through my exams on the 16th, 23rd, 24th and 26th April and then my time at Ryerson has come to an end. Thinking about it, I don't know how to react to that as really this has been the best year ever and the people I have met along the way have just been amazing and made my time here in Toronto a blast. But soon they are all going to have to leave rez and go home leaving us exchange folk behind.

Craig had his final exam on Wednesday so we all went out to celebrate as this year is his graduation year so after a 6 year degree he finally finishes so you can imagine how drunk he got that night...well he could walk to the car from Hoops and walk into rez no problem but just didn't want to get up from the sofa when we got to his room.

Today I had of work (Thursday) as the water was shut off and its a safety hazard to have the kids there. So instead I went to Hernando's for the second exchange leavers party. Well a whole 15 of us showed up for free nachos and mexican snacks from 3:30pm - almost 7pm so good laughs with the guys.

Tomorrow is Devantay's birthday at work so we got a party to throw for him and then I got the Geos final pub night of the year at Mick E Fynns so that should be something to look forward to tomorrow...yay! This means a recovery day on Saturday whilst trying to revise for this exam on Monday over the weekend.

Anyways, it's getting late here and I want an early night for once so I'll catch you guys laters

The Sunday Of All Sundays

Superbowl comes to .... Miami

snow -25 °C

Hey,

You guessed it Super Bowl Sunday and to my surprise...well not really but I would have expected a bit more hype around it especially with Toronto being so close to the U.S. border. But anyway I was all geared up to watch it at my place with pizza and southern comfort...not the best mix but it'll do for the whole 4 hours it was on. The game is only 60 minutes in length but we all know the American concentration span is less than 2 plays in the game. It was P'sing down with rain in Miami and it was -29 (windchill) in Toronto so I was glad to be indoors. To be honest it felt weird watching the Super Bowl. Usually it takes me about a week to watch the recorded version on Dad's TV as we'd watch a bit in the morning and then some at night maybe and because the game lasted so long it took us a long time. Also I was watching the biggest sporting sunday event live and in another country and to be truly honest I wish I went to the pub to watch the game but because it was so cold I thought not and got the pizza delivered. Anyways I won't go on too much about the game because I know a certain person back home hasn't watched it so my lips are sealed.

Now for the round up of the past week starting with last Monday which was where I left you last time. So after the lab session I went to the gym for a bit and bumped into Kat and her 10th floor gym crew. Later on I met up with Louie and Mike for chilling at the Ram for some pool before Johny, Craig, Michell and Ben turned up and we ended up chilling with the bar staff and manager (who was off duty...so naturally pissed as a fart!). This lead to us staying behind during the lock in as the staff cleaned up and we were listening to Don Campbell playing his guitar and singing along to whatever we requested. Good night really even if we did go back to Craig's to chill with his guitar and more beers until 3:30am... That hurt the next morning to get up for class at 8am. So after class came back chilled on the laptop for a bit before going back in for another class and then passing out on the bed before work. The usual week followed after that...class at 9 - 10 on Wednesday and Thursday followed by work and the usual Wednesday Exchange Pub Night for Matty's birthday who we didn't really see much of as nearly everyone in the place had turned up to see him or knew him and just happened to be there.

Other than that its been taking it easy on the alcohol (not been out drinking since wednesday...ok little lie i was drinking on saturday night in Pitman but only had two drinks and the one southern comfort on sunday for the Super Bowl) so really I've been good to myself. Easy night tonight at the gym and the Ram straight after so will only have the one drink and then stay on coke or whatever non-alcoholic. Now I got to be getting back to class now so I'll catch up another time...probably the way I'm going it'll be next Monday but I hope not so anyways catch you later

If Jesus Can Have A Last Supper, Then So Can We!

Last Night In Toronto!!!

sunny 2 °C

Hey

Well after a crazy night packing until 4:30am this morning [monday morning] I finally got my lazy arse out of bed at around 2pm, just in time to make a few phone calls with Zoom Airlines about reservations and baggage etc and then just enough time to walk into work and start my final day of the term!

So after final packing as I forgot that I was taking home some of Christabel's stuff too so a complete re-think of what I was bringing home but simple solution but I won't tell you about it! Anyway afterwards Chris and I had a "Last Supper" with Tramy and we ordered a chinese take out which should have been with us within 40 minutes. However as they were busy an hour later we called up the chinese and after they said they were busy so it wasn't ready we said we'd come pick it up as we were heading downtown anyway...well down the street to firstly pick up the chinese and also change some money at the money mart.

So we got home and we had Tramy waiting in the lounge and as soon as the chinese hit the table we were all in there just waiting to dig in. So a episodes of friends, chinese and a good hour later I get a phone call from Luke who took me out to the cinema to watch "Blood Diamond" with Leo Di. Good film, bit gory but a very good film overall.

So now I am here doing this and just about to hit the sack as I'm up early tomorrow...well today and be at the airport for 5 hours as Chris checks in before me and I have to check in 4 hours before my flight home so hanging around for a while!

Anyways I guess the next time you guys hear from me will actually be back in England over the Christmas period so I hope to see you around

David

PS. Can't wait to play on the piano again...been too long!

End Of An Era!

All Going Home Now!

sunny 4 °C

Hey

So Matty's farewell get together at his house was a blast! He left me in charge of $750 and a "guest list" with all 27 people in the limobus! Really the "limobus" was more like a coach that had been gutted out and put down laminate flooring, leather sofas, mini bar, full surround sound stereo system and a toilet!

So we got to Matty's house around 8:45pm and were told it would pick us up between 3 and 3:30am so we had a good 6 hours of partying and just last moments together and take lots of photos for everyone! Naturally we all got drunk! Especially after watching the Leafs win 9-2 against the New York Rangers. So a few bottles of this, a few shots of that and some chugs of everything and a beer funnel, I myself was quite merry!

So to make things more interesting we had a pool tourny between the brits and aussies which got to a final three of Luke, Reb and Myself but because other people jumped onto the table before we had a change to continue. Nanna (Denmark) and I were unbeaten in a game of foosball doubles and to put us at a bigger disadvantage we had 3vs2 and we still kicked ass! At one time it was me against three so was quite impressed with myself.

So after chilling with Tamara and Amanda all night it was time to say goodbye to everyone (that weren't exchange students) and jump back on the bus back home where the life of the journey home were once again the Aussies, Brits ...and Jules (from Holland). Finally climbed into bed at 4:15am after falling through the doors and onto my bed!

So overall it has been a great night and the best way to finish the semester! So today I've been packing...well deciding what to take home exactly as most of my luggage will be Chris' so might as well leave my clothes here and bring back everything worth something so scrapbox, cameras and laptop...amongst other things! So now going to try and catch some sleep before its day light again!

G'nite!...well morning!

No Longer A Teen....

...Well Physically Not Anymore!

sunny 4 °C

Hey

Well it's now the 16th and I haven't caught up so much in the last three days for two reasons: 1) Exchange Parties and 2) Work! Anyway, I'll catch up with you whilst I'm eating icecream and birthday cake for my breakfast...yumm! So yeah I left it just before I went down to Reb's for pizza and drinks and got everyone there to sign my flag (Kat, Chris, Reb, Giulia, Hilary and Joey)...Luke and Chowny were out that night but oh well! So I am going to grab everyone up at Matty's tonight! So after a lot of drinks and pizza we all hit up the street to Mick E Fynns when we met Louie, John, Gemma and Kate. By the end of the night everyone got incredibly drunk and Joey, Kat, Louie and I went to Crews up on Church Street and bumped into Tegan, Lucy and Jules (more exchange students) and to their shock that we were at a gay bar! They all thought we were homophobic and the next time they saw me they thought I was too drunk to realise where I was but actually I did!!

So woke up with the biggest hangover Thursday morning and after a shower and a lot of much needed water Chris then took me for my early birthday surprise. We went to Mariko, a Japanese restaurant on Yonge Street. The place itself was nice and the food was awesome! Green tea, soup starter, breaded pork with sushi, tofu, rice, ginger and salad for main and then green tea icecream for afters. For $12 for the both of us it was really nice and after that I felt well again. So after my Japanese detox session on Yonge Street, i was ready to hit work and then afterwards Fynns with Luke and Chowny. We met up with Adam T (RISExC) and then later on Chris, Reb, Tegan, Jule, Lucy, Louie and Dave (ILLC) joined us for leaving drinks as this would be the last time we'd all see Chowny. Adam bought Louie and I early birthday drinks, which Louie gave to Adam as he wasn't feeling to good...Adam wasn't complaining as it was one more drink for him! After a few headed off to Maddys, John and I got another drink and then hit off out of Fynns and John and Gemma went to Maddys whilst Chowny, Louie, Dave and I went to the griddle fore some much needed food, PANCAKES!

So friday comes and its my birthday! No longer a teenager so after a final xmas shop downtown I hit the discount dollar store and got some red tinsel, a santa's hat and some reindeer antler headband with jingle bells on them. As I was walking back from there to go to the shop to pick up some Pepsi for work's xmas party, I was wearing the headband and was quite happy I got some smiles from people walking past and some laughs from some girls in a restaurant window. So turned up to work and went into the kitchen screaming "Happy Holidays" and everyone turned around and just burst into laughter! I was the only one dressed like a prat! It felt good though and I was in the Christmas spirit! So after becoming a dinner reindeer for the kids, I was booted out of the kitchen to get some food and "take a break". Turns out the staff were planning my birthday surprise as the lights went out and out came the cake with 20 candles and loads of kids and staff singing (well kids screaming, the staff were singing) happy birthday and I was given a bag full of cards and presents. The kids also came up and hugged my legs as they were too small to reach me and after few were clinging on I almost fell on them. This was the surprise they had planned when I walked in on Tuesday or Wednesday and wad booted out and guided out by the kids. I tell you something considering I have only been there a little over a month I really do love those kids...I don't know why I was thinking of a job in the Ram or under table work off campus at bars etc...Well I found my job until the end of June. To top it off I went home with an envelope which had every kid on pieces of paper like report cards and I have to fill them in so I really feel like a teacher now!

So after work I brought home the birthday cake and soon enough as soon as I told chris she called the Aussies, Shanice and Joey to help me finish it off! Luke and I watched the leafs game with a birthday drink, which was nice and then here we are today sat in my room with the cake and icecream long gone and I'm off to meet Matty about tonight so I'll catch you guys laters! See you soon and new pictures on December 2006 page...The Iceskating pictures!

All Is Good!

I Have A Job Now! Woohoo!

overcast 4 °C

Hey

Sorry I havent been doing this recently as I have been driven to insanity with work and stuff for university! But the good news is, that I have a job here in Canada...woohoo!!! I am working in the after school club with children aged between 6 and 11 years of age. So starting between 3 and 3:30 and then we do homework with them for about an hour so bring on the maths and geography homework! Then after that we have some recreational time with them which could mean anything from colouring in, playing mouse trap or on wednesday we played with cornflour and water mix...the staff didn't expect me to get in and play with them as such but I guess I get that from dad with the whole being a kid again. Then at around 6 - 6:30 we get them ready and walk them home (luckily they live within 2 blocks from where I work so not that far. So the interview on monday went great...I got the job, tuesday I started and then I had a rushing evening on Wednesday. I was at work until 6:30 and then I had to run to the Ram to meet everyone to go to the Raptors game.

So the Raptors game! Come on, my first NBA game and we had gold seating tickets thanks to Adam's friend (who works at the ticket office) and we were 20 rows from the baseline. We had what Matty told me the best and worst team in the conference at the time going into the game (raptors being worse with 2 - 8 record) and against the best player in the league (LB James), however you would not have been able to tell as the first quarter finished 35-20 to the raptors. Don't worry I wont give a full match report but in the end we won 95-87 so my first game was a win so may not go again and keep the 100% record. But I think Matty and I will hit some more raptors games later on in the year.

Thursday night was a chilled night at the Ram with Jaclyn, Devan and Leanna well we thought it'll be a chill but we turned up on pub night for some departments and the place was packed and we didn't hit the dancefloor which Jaclyn would have done without even thinking about it so we just chilled in the corner and had a few drinks (well i did anyway as Dev and Leanna were only 18 and underage). But had a laugh before hand with the whole accents and slang differences like we had on the roof when i first met them in early September.

Friday was my day off university as usual until work at 3:30 with the kids again. We made snowflakes and xmas decorations and we had some time to play with them especially some with playing cards and then out came the magic tricks I knew with a deck of cards. Kids are so easy to surprise with tricks and because of that I had some kida asking me and pulling me to their table when we did snowflakes. Some kids even asked to take my snowflakes home with them as me being me tried to go the extra mile and put fancy curves in it instead of little triangles.

So after work chilled at my place until about half 8 when I went over to Kat's as we were hitting the town with Karen and Ian (friend of Kats in Pitman and Karen's boyfriend) so pre drinking at Pitman and Ian and I went crazy when we found out that the Leafs beat the Washington Capital 7-1 in Washington DC so that lead to more drinking for us two. Hit the town starting at Imperial or "The Library" as the university profs call it! I don't know why but oh well never mind! Moving on, we hit the Eaton Centre as Karen wanted the toilet (she didn't need the loo until we left Imperial...typical) So we were in the Eaton Centre and Kat and I kept running off to all the decorations and pretty much anyway to take pictures on her camera from me sliding on my knees to her posing in front of Santa's Sofa or some display along those lines. So after Karen had finished we hit Richmond Street towards the Entertainment district! We went into a club called Tonic after being body searched at the doors (they like that ovr here) and we hit the bar from the moment we walked in. Cheap beer too (price wise) so was dancing the night away until about 2:30am then we walked back along Richmond until we hit Yonge by this time Karen and Ian may have regretted coming out with some drunk Brits... We found some cows (like the ones dotted around Manchester) and we were having a photo shoot with them riding them, posing next to them and so on as you do when you are drunk! We also found a car dealership where they had an Aston Martin outside. So kat and I were posing on it and making a portfolio for like Nuts and Zoo magazine and any car magazine really! We did the same in Dundas Square with the Christmas Tree and the presents underneath them so doing the typical student thing! We grabbed some food at the griddle at this would be around 3ish when we got there! Came back around half fourish very merry and ready to colapse on the bed.

Woke up and actually got out of bed around 2ish in the afternoon...lazy sod I know! Pretty much just chilled in the flat doing some revision for my mid term for RS unit...not looking forward to it as it was like doing some GCSE coursework in year 9 again so feel a little behind as I hadn't done the pre-requisit course for RS either! Hopefully I should be fine...just carry on reading.

Went out into town with Tramy, Chris, Kat, John, Gemma and some of Tramy's friends to celebrate her birthday (her birthday was actually on the 20th (monday) but we had the party on saturday 25th) at Mr Green Jeans in the Eaton Centre. Not bad I must admit and we had an icecream birthday cake for Tramy and got the whole floor singing Happy Birthday to her. Cutting the cake was even funnier as it was melting and by the time we finished the cake it was all over the table.

So after that we hit City Hall for the Cavalcade of Lights... the square at City Hall was frozen over and people are iceskating there now so one night we are going to get everyone to go together... which should be fun as none of us have been iceskating for years. Saw a light show on the Old City Hall building and then we went crazy taking pictures of the ice skating and the tree whilst dancing to YMCA and the Cha Cha Slide. We decided to head back later on to Imperial where or the first time 90% of everyone in the building were English! Kat and I went crazy and started listening to see who else was English. At the bar I was talking to some guy who was paying his bill and instead of a $20 note he pulled out a £20 note so was a lot of fun in there and then headed home around 11:30ish so an early night for once over the weekend.

I know this might say I wrote this on thursday but I have been going on at it for a while now so if you got confused with the dates don't worry it's my fault for not catching up all this time but I have lots of new photos on my Picture Diary (November) and I updated the "Toronto" page too if you want to have a look too!

Anyway have to get back to revising for this exam so wish me luck

Another Fun Filled Week!

I've found my karaoke bar now

sunny -2 °C

Hey

Well I didn't think I left it so long since my last entry but oh well never mind. I've been very busy this week with a mid term on wednesday and my remote sensing assignment on monday. Apart from that it was halloween on Tuesday so dressed up again and hit the town...well Church Street around the corner from Neill Wycik. It was one massive gathering of people all dressed up in costumes and everyone was having photos taken with the best dressed ones (some you can see on my website). It was crazy, I've never seen anything like it.

Bumped into Kat about half way through as she was with some girls from her floor so I chilled with them as Johny went off to meet his girlfriend who works round the corner from Church Street. So after walking all the way to the top, we walked right back down through the crowds again. So after 30 minutes of pushing and shoving through the crowds on the way back we hit Mick E Fynns where Kat and I chilled for a bit with some people from her floor. We were lookig around at the costumes inside Fynns when we noticed a good old British Bobby! Looking closer at the Bobby, we realised that it was the same guy who gave Kat and I a talk back at MMU when he did the same exchange as we are doing now. So had a chat with him about things and we both almost walked into jobs because now he is one of the managers at a clothes shop in the Eaton Centre, but unfortunately we don't and he couldn't do under the table work for us.

Was up until about half 2, maybe half 3 just chilling in Kat's room (seem to do that a lot just us chilling chatting about travelling over here and things we want to do here etc and on the odd occassions we get very drunk with some of her floor mates who walk in every now and again). Anyway back to the story! So got in late from Kat's and woke up in my doctor outfit as I just crashed out as soon as I got in.

Wednesday morning, we had our first proper mid term exam which was 30 multiple choice questions about everything we had studied so far in GIS. Kat missed it after our late night, however she woke up at 6:30am and then forgot to re-set it to wake her up around 8ish for our 9am exam. So Kat was a bit stressed out by that, so after seeing Steve (Professor for GIS) she actually sat the exam at 3pm. So to celebrate surviving the exam, there was a Mapleleafs game at Rams so Craig, Brent, Michell, Andreas and I chilled there to watch the Leafs win and then when Louie showed up we moved to Hoops for Karaoke. So I was vey happy indeed as it was like Footage with the big screen and some of the smaller TVs having the lyrics on as well so everyone could join in. So after 6 pitchers, Craig, Michell, Andreas and Louie were quite drunk and I was getting there but had breaks as I was singing so I was drinking water at times.

So after the karaoke we waited outside the bar as the guys got talking to some of the waitresses so Craig, Michell, Louie and I were singing outside the bar and just pretty much having a laugh until Irena and Taylor came out (Waitresses) and then we all went back to crash Craigs place but because Taylor had no photo ID on her they had to call the security to check her out etc and by this time Irena went home so until 7am we chilled in Craigs room listening to music, playing on the xbox and his pc etc.

Thursday was another great night at Maddys piano bar with all the exchange students as Luke sent out an email to everyone to come out then and by 12ish a good 20 of us from the exchange we at Maddys singing along to Ryan Luchuck. Kat was getting hit on by this Kiwi all night and after it all Luke, Kat & I got a cab home and again I chilled with Kat in her room for a bit doing the usual chats and having a laugh. So then around 4ish I managed to crawl in to bed.

Early rise with mum calling me and a few wrong number calls but got up to meet Alex to put together a presentation we are doing for the International Exchange Presentaion where students on exchange, returned from exchange and the international office give presentations to the principle, international diplomats, exchange students and students who are considering going on exchange. So after 2 hours of chatting about this whole experience we came up with a presentation which I sent off to Dave Begg at the international office to see what he thinks of it.

Otherwise its a quiet night tonight chilling at VIP with Louie for a few games of pool and some drinks but just a chilled night so just waiting for him to get back from wherever they went off to.

So I'm going to be getting off with some work now whilst I wait for Louie so ciao for now

Around The World....

In 80 Minutes...

rain 4 °C

Hey

So I get up early on Friday (With help from Mum calling me) for a chat, which i preferred as I went into uni early to do my remote sensing assignment which I can now do so I'm a happy chappy.

So whilst on a break from it all I decided to pick up this money gram that mum sent me. Now after 2 phone calls I finally write down where I am meant to go to pick it up. Mum says it is somewhere on Dundas. Well Dundas is that big it has both East and West sections. So guessing that 5 star market kind of sounded oriental so I went west. As soon as I hit the main part of China Town on Spadina I popped into the bank to ask for directions. After a brief search on the net we found it! It was number 2755 Dundas Street West. I asked what number the bank was and guess what they guy said? "We're number 500 Dundas Street West". So I had a long walk to go (80 minutes) in that time I went through China Town, Portugal Village, Andorra Town, Brazil (part of portugal village). I also visited Vietnam, Taiwan and another village (Village of Brockhurst I think it was called). So finally find the place, which was a relief in the end via going around the world in that time. So when I got my money I then decided to get the street car home as it was raining cats and dogs most of the day. So atleast I got my exercise for the day.

Decided to crash Kat's place with John, Luke and Chowny. Carolyn came later on (girl from Kat's floor I think) and by 1am John, Carolyn, Kat and I were left. Kat and I were well and truly merry with god knows how much alcohol but I thought I would celebrate a "not drinking" week so kat has some drunken madness photos on her laptop now especially of her and myself.

Got to today (Saturday) and it was pretty much a lazy day until about 4ish when Kat and I decided to check out Kensington Market just north of China Town. Had so much fun there and Tink, I think this is somewhere you would like to shop too! So much second hand stuff and clothes going cheap etc! Kat was having a great time in there and we were trying on outfits for halloween and stuff. In the space of 2 hours we were dressed for the Army, Navy, Police Force, Disco Divas, Pirates, Hippies, Cowboys and girls and also tried some other stuff.

Anyway I'm off to a party down at Reb's and afterwards Kat and I may check out Spadina to see who else is walking the streets showing off their outfits and stuff. Apparently it should be a fun night tonight.

Happy Birthday To You!

...And Happy Birthday To You Too...

overcast 14 °C

Hey

Not had an exciting week so far as I didn't get much done during the weekend so everyone was pretty much bored and doing nothing.

I was meant to go to an Oktoberfest event downtown last night (Tuesday) so after talking to some people online last night i thought i'd catch up on some sleep for a few hours (making it around 10 and time to go out). However I woke up and was ready to go out but then realised that it was dark and quite in the flat...I looked at my clock and it said 3:30am (Wednesday morning) so I kind of missed it. I also got the Spanish Inquisition from the exchange guys as they now just expect both Louie and I to be at every tuesday night party. Don't know what Louie's excuse was but we kind of said we would make it up next time and plus we got the whole year here to make it up too.

We had two birthdays today! Both Katherine and Chowny turned 20 today so going to Swiss Chalet for a meal tomorrow night and then drinks afterwards for Chowny and Katherine is with her flat mates at the moment but we may take her out to get slaughtered over the weekend too.

So, just got back from Rams now after a few games of pool and some drinks (of water....silly me forgot my ID so I couldn't drink...suppose it is okay as it gives me liver a rest. We also had an open mic night so live performances from other students. Some were good and some were really really bad as one guy was worse than Alun (Karaoke at Footage...Rachel, Tom, Jack and Dunnie will know who I am on about) but yeah this guy was worse than Alun! It was unreal!

Just checking over my assignment for Global Shift which is in for tomorrow afternoon and I think I got it okay...touchwood... So far I got a C in my Physical Geography assignment which involved doing some GIS which back home we hadn't done as such and had to guess how to do the work (took all 5 of us from MMU to figure it out!), so I wasn't disappointed with that. I also got AA in my two in-class tests so far so averaging out at B/B+ so again I'm happy about that but still got to see about the other units I'm taking here too.

Off to Niagara on Friday for a field trip with Yorkshireman Stephen Swales (GIS teacher) to the falls I think and the nearby wine fields or so he called them. Should be fun and I finally get to wear my big coat as the weather ain't looking to bright either.

Anyway best be off now

Oh My God! A Sunny Bank Holiday!

Why Don't We Get Them Back Home?

sunny 15 °C

Hey

Well today is recovery day (or bank holiday) from Thanks Giving! Still had tonnes of food left over. Both Chris and I walked Layla to the bus terminal as she had to be back for university tomorrow. So after that I was chilling in my room when Luke turned up and asked if I fancied going down to the Harbour Front Centre to see what was going on. Turned out it was a Harvest Festival so pumpkins all over the place. We stumbled across a pumpkin pie eating contest. Well we were in the heats of the children's round and we couldn't be bothered staying for two hours to watch the kids and adults contests.

Started walking around and up towards the Rogers Center (Americanised spelling so it is centER and not centRE). Anyway we went to ask about prices to watch the Argonauts for another time later this month but Luke was so in to watching a game we bought two $60-$75 tickets for $15 each (we went to a ticket scalper round the corner). So we got pretty good seats too. Okay we missed 7 minutes of the first quarter but the game went on for 3 hours because its stop the clock and the game was so stop and start, stop and start, stop and start! It was good and Toronto Argonauts beat the Edmonton Eskimos 23 - 28 (For some reason over here the home team's score is second). Got a free Argonauts blanket, which after the game we wore like capes walking home as you would any sport... We were 10 rows from the touch lines too so not only close to the action but we were closer to the cheerleaders too! Some of them weren't bad either!

So came back and flicked through the TV channels and watched the Toronto Maple Leafs at home to the Florida Panthers. Again it went into a face off penalty shoot out. This time we won 1 - 0 after a 1 - 1 3rd period score. So finally the Leafs win at home and are 2 for 2 (2 won and 2 lost). Luke is convinced I'm hooked now as I've watched all 4 Leafs games in the NHL and 3 Pre Season games. So next game is on Thursday so I got time to do my work again.

The crazy thing is the weather was really good for a bank holiday...I could so get used to this over here instead of crappy rainy weather in England but oh well.

Anyway off to bed now so speak soon

David
